From Maria (USA)

Have as much fun as we did creating place mats out of newspaper, postcards and contact paper. It keeps the kids busy and can be a family project for all kinds of gifts and seasons.

Materials

  • newspaper
  • postcards
  • clear contact paper

Directions

  1. Cut two pieces of clear contact paper slightly larger than the size you want your place mat to be.
  2. Peel off the paper from the backside of one of the pieces of clear contact paper.
  3. Stick on the postcards, pictures, newspaper articles, etc. you want to decorate the place mat with.
  4. Remove the backside of the remaining piece of clear contact paper and place the clear contact paper over your pictures.
  5. Trim away any excess contact paper being careful to leave a 1-inch border from your decorations.
  6. Now you have a beautiful personalized place mat. Make as many as you need. One for a gift or a whole set for the family.
